Time for a bit of inspiration, Surfing magazine have a selection of images from each of their staff photographers from last year:
There are some amazing photo’s in there and I love the full page presentation, I’d love to see some captions or even 18 Seconds Magazine style audio clips from the photographers but I guess you’ll have to track down the issues that they appeared in to find out more about the images.
I hate the page turn animation and the gradient in the centre to make it look like an actual magazine though, it’s a bit 2005, I’d rather just see the photo’s themselves without any special effects.
One of my favourite images is by Corey Wilson and it’s on Page 49, it’s a great photo but it’s got a special significance for me because I surfed the same spot in Samoa in 2014 too, I didn’t get it as good as the photo unfortunately but I had some fun surf’s there.
