Creative Surf Photography Introduction

this is the section where we get a bit more creative we break some of the rules that we set out right at the start you know basics section and we do that because we want to see a different look something out of the ordinary hopefully something that’s going to bring an emotional response from the people looking at your photos and these are usually the photos that get the most love from your audience they’re the ones that really speak to people and the ones that people want to see more of and hopefully they’re going to be a way for you to show other people even people who don’t surf what it’s like to be in your position and the experiences that you’ve had and really speak to those people through your photography so I might be talking up a little bit essentially there’s a handful of techniques here which I’ve laid out which are quite popular among photographers some less so some more so you probably will have seen a few of these hopefully in your Instagram collections you probably will have highlighted a few there along the lines of these techniques so I’ve gone through usually the the basics of getting that technique sorted and where to start in terms of experimenting with it but I think you this is the section where it’s most likely you’re going to want to put your own stamp on it so I’ve kept it fairly high level you’re going to be seeing a lot of examples that I’ve taken and I’ll tell you about my personal kind of favorites it’s very subjective a lot of the time with this type of photography so don’t be afraid to take what I’ve told you here is a starting point and really experiment go mad find what really works for you because that’s part of the fun one of the most fun parts of it once you’ve got all those basics and those techniques locked in now’s the time where you can really go to town on experimentation and make the most of the knowledge you’ve got so far and build up a portfolio of images that you’re really really proud of
