For the next month I’ll only have limited access to the internet, so instead of a mixture of up to date posts on things that have happened recently and the usual tips and lessons mixed in, I’ve set up a few more general posts to pop up while I’m away, hopefully I’ll also get a minute to update this site with some of my own surf photography as I go.
Here’s a long exposure shot that I really liked from a little while ago, shot early in the morning on an overcast day with the Canon 70-200mm lens at a shutter speed of 1/3 of a second, the long shutter speed smoothed out the fairly choppy water, I converted it to black and white because there was very little colour in the image anyway and I could up the contrast more pleasingly.
This represents winter in the Northern hemisphere for me, cold, dark waves. Hopefully the trip will hold many opportunities to brush up on my summery photography before Spring kicks in when I get back.
