For Sale Canon 28mm f2.8 lens – on eBay

I mentioned a while ago that I was going to be selling my Canon 28mm f2.8 lens, so if you shoot a cropped sensor Canon body and have the appropriate housing and port and want to get photo’s like this one, stick a bid in:

This was taken with the 70D and 28mm lens in my Aquatech housing. ISO 100, 28mm, f4, 1/1000

I’ve written about the 28mm before in my post on normal length lenses, and I also wrote about one possible alternative for Canon cropped sensor users, the 24mm EF-S Pancake lens.

A couple of weeks ago I placed a pre-order for then 24mm Pancake lens, based on my love of the 28mm focal length and the 40mm pancake lens, but today I cancelled that pre-order.

The unplanned cancellation is due to a bit of an impulse purchase I made last week, I’ve been looking for a replacement for the faulty Canon 100D I had to send back and I found a refurbished Sony a6000 body for a great price, the first lens I sought out for it was something equivalent to the 28mm I had and the Sigma 30mm f2.8 seemed to be a sensible option, after testing it out for one afternoon I could tell it was an awesome, and good value, lens which would definitely compare to the 70D/28mm combination that I love so much.

My new “backup” camera, a Sony a6000, which might end up being my primary camera…

So I cancelled my pre-order and instead put the money towards a Samyang 8mm fisheye, but that’s another story, expect some proper posts about this new camera providing it keeps working OK, so far it’s promising enough to have me ordering the bits I need to get it working in my water housing at least.
